Hey everyone!
I fell a little behind with my blog posts but I am back and have quite a few things to talk about! Recently I noticed #metoo trending on both twitter and facebook. The hashtag raises awareness for women who have been victims of sexual assault or harassment. This follows recent allegations regarding Harvey Weinstein and other big wig Hollywood execs being accused of sexual misconduct against actresses.
I couldn't help but think about the power of the # and how it can create movements and really get people talking. We see a lot of ranting and bullying on social media and although the circumstances are flat out disturbing, I think we can all realize the reach and overall power behind the hashtag and how much noise it can create for good reasons.
